Welcome Aubrie Dionne! Author of Paradise 21

I'm so excited about this post!  This is my first author guest post and I'm so happy to have Aubrie on my blog.  She sparked my interest months back by tweeting about research for her book series.  She asked me to help out with her book release and I was more than happy to.  I got a sneak peak of Paradise 21 and let me tell you it is "Monstrously awesome, way cool to the max!"

This book will never cease to amaze you. From beginning to end it is packed full of action and adventure. The description of the planets and space ships is incredible. New ideas and inventions, along with stuff from old earth you wouldn't imagine (like an entire forest in the middle of a colony ship flying through space), creates the world that Aries and Striker exist in.

Then there's the characters themselves. Adventurous and beautiful Aries, stunning yet rugged Striker, galactically gorgeous Barliss, loyal Loot, tough as nail Tiff, con-man Drifter and wise Reckon. They all have a unique characteristic that draws you to them. You will instantly adore Aries, fall for Striker and love to hate Barliss. I think Loot became my favorite quickly after he was introduced (the quotes above are two of my favorite lines from him).

The plot twists and turns throughout the entire book, always keeping you guessing. I could never guess how the story was going to end.

Amazing book and I can't wait to see what the next has in store for us.

Aries has lived her entire life aboard mankind’s last hope, the New Dawn, a spaceship traveling toward a planet where humanity can begin anew—a planet that won’t be reached in Aries’ lifetime. As one of the last genetically desirable women in the universe, she must marry her designated genetic match and produce the next generation for this centuries-long voyage.

But Aries has other plans.

When her desperate escape from the New Dawn strands her on a desert planet, Aries discovers the rumors about pirates—humans who escaped Earth before its demise—are true. Handsome, genetically imperfect Striker possesses the freedom Aries envies, and the two connect on a level she never thought possible. But pursued by her match from above and hunted by the planet’s native inhabitants, Aries quickly learns her freedom will come at a hefty price.

The life of the man she loves.

Dear Readers of Paradise 21,

Have you ever wondered what will happen to the human race after life on Earth becomes uninhabitable? I do. All the time. Because I am a big old worry wart. I worry about driving in the snow (Winter in NH is like the ice planet Hoth in Star Wars), I worry about eating food beyond the expiration date, I worry about what to wear to look dressy enough, and I worry about planet Earth. Besides global warming, weapons of mass destruction, and other things, the sun will burn out someday, and I wonder if people will still be around. If so, what will they do? Where will they go?
This is where the New Dawn series and Paradise 21 comes in. I wanted to create a world where colonization is possible. Each book is about a different colony ship traveling to a paradise planet. Learning about the vastness of space, I realized each planet would take lifetimes to reach, so generations of colonists would have to live their lives on the ship to pass down the human DNA to their descendants.
But I wanted to make my space opera much more than scientific theories put to the test. I wanted aliens, desert planets, sandworms, space pirates, and laser fights. I wanted to make the story exciting and romantic at the same time. I wanted Paradise 21 to have something for everybody: action, adventure, science fiction, love. I worked on a perfect balance of all these dimensions, and Paradise 21 is what I came up with. I hope you all enjoy it!
