Tune In Tuesday {38}

Tune In Tuesday is a fun weekly post hosted by Ginger at GReads.  It's a great way to see what kind of music other people are loving right now.

My pick of the week is "Somebody That I Used To Know". This song has been dancing in my head for the past few weeks. About a week ago we changed the radio station at work and the original version of this song now plays at least once a day. Though the first time I heard this song (second video), it was a cover of the song that had been going around you tube. Thought it was pretty neat. Then Glee covered it a few weeks ago. I thought Matt Bomer (Blain) did a very good job. Not sure which is my favorite because they all have something neat and different about them. Which do you prefer?

TGIF {26}

TGIF is a fun post created by Ginger at GReads.  It’s to recap what you’ve posted about through the week and Ginger asks a fun book related question.

Friday, April 13th - Musical Stories: If you could read a book about any song, which song would you love to see written down in story form?

When I first read this weeks topic I didn't think I would post. I love books and I love music, but I never really hear a song and think OMG I want to read a book about that. Don't get me wrong, I hear songs and get inspired for certain things, or can picture it for another book, never never really came up with an entire book from just one song. Until last week. Ever see the movie Garden State? (it's one of my all time favorite movies) Well there's this song from it, on the sound track, that is AH-MAZING. It's called Fair by Remy Zero. It's beautiful and broken and I just love it. I remember thinking "there should be a story that goes with this." And now I want to write it. While listening to it on repeat as I cleaned the house Friday, an idea for a story popped into my head. I sat down a few nights later and wrote the opening scene. It's not much, but it's a start. About 250 or so words. It's going to be a dark YA CONTEMPORARY! YES! I typed that right, contemporary. So far the working title is FAIR. I have a name for my female MC. I can picture the guys. Neither have a name.

What about you?

Tune In Tuesday {37}

Tune In Tuesday is a fun weekly post hosted by Ginger at GReads.  It's a great way to see what kind of music other people are loving right now.

I didn't post a song last week. I wasn't really listening to anything new. Sometimes I get into a music "rut" where all I want to do is listen to the same song/group over and over. Well this week I finally have something new!!!!!!! Or, newer. New to me.

There's this movie that came out back in 2006 called Once. Not a movie I would think of seeing unless it came on TV but a good friend said "hey, you should watch this movie". So I did. And I really really liked it! It's cute and witty and so sweet in so many places (and IMO has one of the worst and best pick up lines ever, both by the same character). It's a musical and filled with so many good songs, but it was Falling Slowly that really caught my ear. I stopped everything I was doing and just sat in awe at the screen. Just listen. And if you haven't seen the movie, and like musicals, I'd be sure to check it out.

TGIF {25}

TGIF is a fun post created by Ginger at GReads.  It’s to recap what you’ve posted about through the week and Ginger asks a fun book related question.

Friday, April 6th - Book Series: Which book, from any series has been your favorite ending? What about your least favorite ending?

Favorite: Mockingjay. So it's not exactly happily-ever-after. But there was an ever after! I loved the very last chapter. The glimpse into the future. That if ever I think of those characters I can know they had something to look forward to themselves. Yes, they are fictional, but I don't care!

Least favorite: Okay, I might get some guff for this, but my least favorite would have to be Forever in The Wolves of Mercy Falls series. It's not that it was bad, I just wanted...more. I was left still wondering what's going to happen. I'm the type of person who needs and ending, good or bad. But I want it to be final. I still look at that last page sometimes hoping more words will magically appear.

No other posts on this blog this week. But I did do a review of GETTING CAUGHT over at quest for books! Check out the full site here
