S'Mellows make you happy...

To be 3 again...where the simplest things, like marshmallows, bring you joy.  It's nice to stop and be a kid for a while.  Setting aside all work and just playing.  My goal is to set aside time each day and devote it just to myself and my writing.  I'm hoping soon to get on a schedule to where I wake up early, get in a little exercise, shower and while my hair dries, write!  Easier said than done, I know!  I am SUCH a night owl.  It's hard for me to be in bed before 11.  Goal is bed by 10 and up by 5!  I've been pushing myself early every week.  Last week it was 6 (normally I'm up by 6:30).  So we'll try this week for 5:30.

Oh yeah, did I mention I am NOT a morning person?!

Currently listening to my 3 year old sing about marshmallows!  That's what makes me happy.

Power of the written word...

I love the way a good story can engulf you.  How you can get lost in the words, not coming back to reality for hours on end.  How it can make you forget everything on your mind and just...take you away.  My hope is that one day I can make at least one other person feel that way about my writing.

P.S.  Anna Zagar, this ones for you!

Currently listening too...internal soundtrack (ie...the song playing over and over in my head) Seether's "Take Me Away"

Sound track to your life...

I will confess, I'm a Gleek.  I love all and everything that has to do with music, therefore I can't get enough of Glee!  While I wasn't in the school choir, I was in the band for 7 years!  And music was my favorite subject through elementary school.  I eat, breathe, sleep music and I HATE quiet.  I can't function without background noise.  If I'm home alone the TV or radio MUST be turned on.  Therefore, when I write, REALLY write, I have to have music playing, mood music.  I definitely choose what music I listen too depending on my mood.  I have my angry, sad, happy, workout, get up and go music of choice.  My mood can also be altered by music.  Could be a normal day and a sad song plays and brings you down, or you could be down and hear an upbeat song that picks you up.  Certain songs can also trigger memories, good or bad.  Songs that make you feel like a kid again, remind you of your teen years.  In the end, music fuels my soul.

So what's your sound track like?  I have to say mine is a mixed pallet, and I couldn't pick just one (okay, if my life depended on it, but I won't even think about that).

Favorites now...One Republic, Three Days Grace, Sick Puppies, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin (just to name a few)
Guilty Pleasure...was, is and always will be Fall Out Boy
All time favorite songs...Madonna's "Material Girl" and Boston's "Amanda".

Currently listening to One Republics "Dream Out Loud" CD

Here goes nothing...

Hopes, dreams, wishes, wants...they only come true if you strive, pursue and persevere long enough to attain them.  I have learned over the past few months (okay...years?) that I can talk to the talk.  Now it's time to see if I've got what it makes and learn to walk the walk.  I'm taking the plunge and am not resurfacing until I've completed the task at hand.  Here goes everything...
