Tune In Tuesday {30} - Smooth Criminal

Tune In Tuesday is a fun weekly post hosted by Ginger at GReads.  It's a great way to see what kind of music other people are loving.  I’ve seen these around and just had to join in the fun.

So there's this song that has been playing over and over and over, not only in my head, but on my iPhone, too. Last week, the Glee kids (I KNOW I KNOW.....) only performed songs by the King of Pop! The Michael Jackson cover that stuck out to me the most was Smooth Criminal. I've always liked this song (both by Michael and AAF), but the song turned battle duet powered by dueling cello's was fan-freakin-tastic! Don't believe, see for yourself.

Glee

So how freaking awesome are those cello players?! Need to hear more from these incredible players? Well here ya go! (for more videos by Sulic & Hauser, go here. I really like their version of Use Somebody)

And I can't complete this post without the original and another favorite cover of the song.

I always wish I could have been one of those cool people that actually watched Glee! Seriously! Every time I see one of their songs, I think that. I love their version of Smooth Criminal but those cello players....HOLY CRAP! They are amazing!

I tried to watch this show.. made it through the first season & then I quit. I'd much rather just watch their performances. This is pretty awesome :)

I am going to say this and probably become the uncool kid instantly but I have never watched Glee! I know..I know...EVERYONE watches it. I like to say I dont watch that much TV, which is true but.....I do love the cello music you picked!

I've only been introduced to 2 Cellos recently and I really like them. I love rock/pop that is reinterpreted using more classical instruments.

And I remember the AAF version being an absolute favourite back when I was a teenager. I'm not a MJ fan so I actually prefer the covers to his songs then the originals.

And uhm... I barely even know what Glee is. I must be so out of tune with popular culture nowadays that and I don't really watch a great deal of TV. I thought it was fairly good though, but I prefer 2 Cellos and the AFF versions.

Stopping by for the book blogger love-a-thon! =)

Smooth Criminal is an excellent choice! Now it's going to be stuck in my head all day, but that's a good thing!

I haven't seen the MJ Glee episode yet (I am sorely behind on my DVR), but I remember hearing about the Smooth Criminal performance! I've loved the cello players for awhile and when I heard they were going to be in the performance...it's phenomenal! Great song too, of course, and I shamefully love the old Alien Ant Farm version, too.

Also, am I the only one who secretly hopes sidewalk squares will light up under my feet as I'm walking thanks to this video? I've totally pretended when i walk on certain sidewalks with under lighting haha.

Hopping through from the Love-A-Thon, love your blog!

I tune into Glee for a few minutes sometimes to see what they're singing, but I've never cared to actually watch an episode.
I do like 2 Cellos though. Here's my choice of Smooth Criminal cover by David Garrett, (I do my music post on Mondays but I might join in this one now.)
