Ready? Set. Write! 2014 Week 5

Ready? Set. Write! is a way for writers to keep in touch with each other and keep themselves accountable to the goals they set. This year it's hosted by Katy Upperman, Alison Miller, Jamie Morrow and Erin Funk. Check out their blogs for more details and be sure to link up each week.

1). How I did on last weeks goals?

I'm still waiting on notes back from a CP. She gave me some over all great ideas but she's going to be more specific with notes in the MS. I can't wait because I'm super excited to get started on this revision. Weirds me out to say that. I've written the first two chapters of my nano project. I read two or three books last week...so I'm good on that goal.

2). My goals for this week

Hope to get notes back for When The Wind Blows so I can focus on revising. Write as much as I can on my nano project, What If I Was Nothing.

3). A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised

Friendship.

4). The biggest challenge I faced this week

Balancing between the two ideas I'm working on. I usually don't problem but wanting to revise WTWBs is keeping me from concentrating on WIIWN.

5). Something I love about my WIP

Kyle. He's my MCs best friend and he's all kinds of fun to write.

Congrats on making your goal. I know how hard it is waiting to get a MS back so you can work on it.Hopefully NaNo keeps you busy.

I have the most fun writing the best friends to my MCs! And congrats on reaching your goals this week, Mandie! I hope you get those notes back and that you have another great week!

It's so hard to be in between multiple projects. Always something to distract you away from one and back to the other. Good luck on your goals this week! :)

Congrats on making your goals and good luck on your revision. Revising is my favorite part even if sometimes it's HARD. Good luck on your goals this week!

I know the feeling. Waiting on CP notes makes me very anxious. You don't want to touch your MS until you have all of the notes, but you don't want to lose momentum for the story. I get it. Thanks for sharing. :D

Balancing more than one project is so tough, but it means you're always working on something, right? That's how I'm trying to view it in my own case. You never now what's going to inspire you to work on a particular, so it's way too easy to bounce back and forth. That's where I'm at right now. Here's to more time to work on both, right? :D

It's nice to hear that you're excited for your revision! It gives me hope that after this first crazy revision, I'll start seeing them as more fun than burdensome. :P Hope you're able to get lots of work done this week!

I'm still not ready to balance two ideas at once--so I'm impressed! Good luck this week.

Seriously, I have issues balancing revisions & drafting on two WIPs from the same series, so you're doing exceptionally well with both your projects! Hope incorporating your CP feed back goes smoothly! Happy writing this week and good luck with your latest goals! :)
