TGIF {23}

TGIF is a fun post created by Ginger at GReads.  It’s to recap what you’ve posted about through the week and Ginger asks a fun book related question.

Friday, March 16th - Social Networking: Do you use Twitter or Facebook to promote your blog?  How has it benefited your book blogging experience? If not, how do you promote your blog? Share your twitter handle and/or Facebook link!

I do have a face book page, but I tend to forget about it because I use twitter more for writing/reading stuff. Maybe forget is the wrong word...ignore? A LOT of my family and friends have "liked" my FB page and I get a little shy about posting more than just an update on there. In theory I *know* my blog is linked there, but if I don't provide them with an updated link then I pretend none of them read it. Have I ever mentioned that I'm kind of shy and don't like to talk about myself or some things in front of people? That's how it would feel because they *know* me. I know, you don't have to tell me, I'm weird. I've accepted it. Moving on.

The biggest way twitter has helped is by introducing me to so many awesome people (one of them being Ginger herself. She is made of win. Speaking of win, make sure you check out the Young Adult March Madness going on at her blog as well as a few others. And be sure to VOTE FOR TOUCH). Other writers, readers, bloggers, authors, fun people to chat with. It's also expanded my personal library, which I don't mind, but sometimes my wallet does. Though, I do enjoy hitting up the BAM "clearence" YA section where I've found some awsesome titles for under $4!

And, I rambled again! Basically, I'm addicted to twitter, I fear FB and I enjoy getting to know everyone through those, as well as their blog.

Look me up:

I wish I used Twitter more often, but seeing how lots of people are saying it's helped them connect with others, I might have to invest a little more time in it.

Aww thanks Mandie :) I'll admit that I'm addicted to twitter, haha. I'm such a social person that it's a great outlet for me to promote my blog. I love getting to know people (hello! it's why I started TGIF lol) so I'm all for it.

And yay for TOUCH!! vote! vote! vote!

I'm with you on the FB thing, MB. I think that's the reason I DIDN'T link my blog to it! :P But yay for Twitter! I think I may be a bit addicted, too. Ooh, maybe there's a site for those of us addicted to Twitter?! (see, I need help!)

I like to keep family and friends separate especially if they are not readers. facebook has stopped allowing folks to have two accounts but you can have a like page but its not the same. meme's are the best promotion for me. http://sidnereading.blogspot.com

My wallet is also weeping from all my purchases ever since I started blogging and following bloggers on twitter. I take their recommendations to heart and I'm a compulsive shopper. That's the only downside to twitter I see now that you mention it. :)

I'm following. Happy Friday!

I love that I can like my Blogger and Facebook page together. Talk about completely forgetting about it. My mom is on Facebook now and she tells me what is going on with my cousins. LOL!

I am kind of like you. I keep my blogging/reading/nerdy/awesome self pretty separate from "real life." The twitter world already knows how nerdy I am, I just don't need the Facebook world to know it too! lol
