What's Up Wednesday: Ready? Set. WRITE! #2

What I'm Reading

Still reading Requiem by Lauren Oliver and listening to The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. But I finished Our Song yesterday and I'm starting Invisibility by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan today!

What I'm Writing

Thanks to tweets from Elodie Nowodazkij and Katy Upperman, I'm joining in on the Ready. Set. Write. (created by Alison Miller) fun this summer. I was going to spend the first week researching and plotting, BUT I got notes back from a CP on my MS ONE MORE SUMMER. So I took some time to go through those, rewrite a chapter, and brush up my query. But hey, writing is writing! Last night I sent out 10 new queries. Fingers crossed. And now to wait. So, while I do that, I'll get back on track with researching.

What Inspires Me Right Now

My crazy energetic son. If only I could bottle that energy. I'd accomplish so much more.

What Else I've Been Up To

ABC Family's Greek (on Netflix). My good friend Ginger at GReads got me hooked and I just can't stop watching!

  2. Great progress on your writing this week! I'm glad you decided to join us in Ready. Set. Write. Rewriting chapters is what I've been up to these past couple of months, so I can relate. I kind of love researching and plotting, so I'm excited for you and your plan for this week. :)

I look forward to hearing what you think of INVISIBILITY. The concept and the cover of that story are very cool and I'm intrigued. :-)

  5. Oh my gosh I loved Greek! It was like a weekly staple for me when it was on ABC Family. I thought the pilot was very good and set up the show really well.

    Good luck querying!

  6. I loved THE RAVEN BOYS! I've never really gotten into the audio versions of books, but I wouldn't mind hearing that book now that I've read it once.
I hope querying goes well for you! That's great that you've got new projects to dive into--I hope the research goes well!

  7. I agree with Rae: THE RAVEN BOYS was fabulous! So dark and funny but with great plot twists. So excited you're querying again; they're going to love OMS!!

  9. I'm supposed to be reading Requiem right now. My sister let me borrow her copy but I keep getting books from the library and having to put it aside.

    Good luck with your queries!!

  10. I really liked the Lauren Oliver series. I think I devoured them in a weekend. :) And good luck with the querying! Me and my CP have a query game we like to play, for every x number of rejections we buy ourselves a prize. Spoonful of sugar theory...works wonders. :)
